Disney on Ice - April 12, 2013

I took Gracie to see another Disney on Ice show at the Giant Center this past Friday evening. We had great seats. While sitting in my law firm's suite is always nice (anything "free" is nice) I have to say buying the tickets and sitting a few rows from the ice was totally worth the money and it was a great show (probably one of the best shows we've gone to and we've been to many shows).  Below are some pics of our night out.  The show was geared for both girls/boys and had performances for the following Disney movies Cars, Aeriel, Tinkerbell and Toy Story 3.  Toy Story 3 was my favorite part of the show but I do believe I spent a good deal of time just staring at the little boys/girls and enjoying the looks on their faces as they saw their favorite Disney characters comes to life on the ice.  It was a great evening out with my daughter.

Lil' George - First Formal Job Interview

Little George had his first "formal" job interview (for an intership) last week. I asked him to text me a pic of him in his suit since he would'nt be home to see him before he left. He looked handsome (just like I thought he would!).

Easter 2013

I was going to just make one big family Easter basket this year but when I ran that one by Gracie she wasn't going to have any of that. I asked Jacob his thoughts and he said he really didn't care but if Grace were to get a basket then he wanted one too.  So I made my babies their Easter baskets and I even managed to make my soon to be 21 year old a "sugar free" Easter basket since he's on some bodybuilding diet kick these days.

Coloring Easter Eggs

Please don't think there was any coloring of eggs without some sort of bickering between Jacob & Gracie...don't let those smiles fool you!

First Day of Spring - NOT!

Well today, March 20th, is officially the first day of spring but it sure doesn't feel like it. It's very cold outside and the weather for the remainder of the month isn't looking too promising.  All in due time, I suppose!

A Note of Thanks to Family and Friends

A special "thank you" to family and friends who helped Jacob and Gracie out with their fundraisers the past few months. There's always some sort of fundraiser going on between both kids and it's hard these days to collect donations and reach goals and thanks to the support of family and friends they both have had great success with their fundraisers.

March is Finally Here - Wahooo...

Anyone who knows me knows that St. Patty's Day is one of my most favorite days of the year. No, it has nothing to do with living in PA. It has everything to do with growing up on Long Island. The St. Patty's Day parade was always a big what-to-do back in Rocky Point....ahhh the good times and  fond memories...how I am grateful for memories! Back at my house the smell of corned beef and cabbage would roam the air...my mother made it every year and she knew how to make it just right. You see if you don't know how to cook corned beef it can come out all sorts of rubbery...not the corned beef my mom made...pure perfection I tell ya!  It's one of my all time favorite meals.!

My Baby Boy

While George and Grace went to the Sweetheart Dance (Sunday, February 24th) me and Jacob spent some long, overdue, quality time together and went bowling and to the YMCA.

Girl Scouts - Sweetheart Dance 2013

On Sunday, February 24th Gracie attended the Girl Scouts Sweetheart dance with her daddy. Below are some pictures I took before they left for the dance.

Mommy and Gracie - Manicure/Pedicure

I took Gracie for her very first manicure/pedicure on Saturday, February 23rd. George got me a gift certificate back in October for my birthday and Gracie's Sweetheart Dance was the following day so I figured it would be a nice treat for me and her to do this together.  Below are some pics.

Basketball 2012-2013 Season Comes to a Close

Jacob's basketball season will come to a close with his final game coming up this Saturday.  All the boys did a great job and worked together well as a team. I know Jacob will miss it, but will be back to play again next year.  All the boys received a medal for their hard work (see pics below).

Lent

Gracie decided to give up "sucking her thumb" for lent this year.  She normally sucks her thumb at night when she goes to bed so George helped her out and taped up both her thumbs for her so I had to get a few pictures of it while she was sleeping.  The child was in total disbelief this morning when she woke up...if only you could have seen the expression on her face as she was telling me how she went the whole night without sucking her thumb...it was too cute.  As for me...I am going to focus on "eating clean".  Jacob has given up sweets and to be honest, nobody in the house has a choice but to eat healthy because I got rid of all the junk food and replaced it all with healthier options! Oh but wait...my dad did sent me and Gracie two HUGE CHOCOLATE HEARTS for Valentine's Day. Mine is up in my closet so I can indulge when lent is over! Gracie hid her in her bedroom so Jacob can't find it LOL.

"Determination"

See pic below.  Gracie came home from school last week this picture that she made in art and she tells me "mom this took a lot of DETERMINATION to do" (the word determination being her "new word of the week" cause I recall her using in a few times the past few days) and I, of course, asked her why did it take so much determination? After a long drawn out explanation she essentially told me that no two colors alike could touch.  After looking at it and telling her what an awesome job she did I looked at it again thought to myself  "better her then me cause I would never have had the PATIENCE to do such a project" (this was just a portion of the picture mind you)!
