I took Jake and Gracie up to Lake Tobias. It's something we did on several occasion when they were younger and I thought it would be nice to pay a visit to the zoo since the weather was nice and the road trip is pretty and only takes about 30 minutes. I must say that visiting the zoo is very cheap. The safari ride and zoo were $13 per person. I got in free cause I am a veteran. If you prefer just to do the safari ride it's $7.00 or just the zoo is $6.00 (I believe you can even get coupons online) and you can pack a lunch and make a day of it. Below are some pictures:

Gracie's New Dooo
Gracie needed her hair long for pig-tails for her dance recital. The day after the recital we went and had it all cut off - she loves it!
Gracie's Dance Recital "Broadway Bound" - June 10, 2016
Gracie has been in dance for six years and this year she opted to go with hip hop instead of tap, ballet, and jazz. Her class performed the "Carlton Dance" to Tom Jone's song "It's Not Unusual To Be Loved By Someone" - all the girls did a great job. Mommy and Aunt Audie were there to to cheer the girls on. The night was filled with three long, lovely hours of nothing but dance (yeah, I'm being a little sarcastic LOL)

Gracie's Birthday
GRACIE GOT HER DAIRY QUEEN ICE CREAM CAKE!
Great week for the kids. School is over and my princess turned 12 years old! She wanted her Dairy Queen ice cream cake for her birthday and she got it. Her big brother Georgie was home for the week and was able to celebrate her birthday with us. She got some nice presents and a mani/pedi with mommy. We had some yucky weather so we all watched Season 1 of the TV series Scream and got to spend some quality time together. Love it when all three of my kids are home together. Hoping Georgie moves back to PA real soon - he's missed.
My four babies!
Mani/Pedi Time
Me and Gracie got our mani/pedi on this Saturday (June 4th) - part of her birthday present - which mommy benefited from, too :)

Hershey Bears v. Wilkes Barre/Scranton Penguins 5/6/16
Went to hockey game with Aim, Aud, and Deb - Bears won 2-0 (playoffs). It was a nice Friday night out with the girls. Even got to wear my Bears jersey :)
Mother's Day
Flower's from my daddy....
Jake and Grace got me cards and gifts. Lil' G called and said he's taking me kayaking in for Mother's Day when he comes home in June. Last year he took me zip-lining. Kayaking should be interesting LOL.....

Mom....Hard to Believe It's Been 6 Years
I never really realized just how much I was like my mother until she was gone. So many similarities...my love for coffee, never leaving the house without making sure my hair and makeup are done down to making sure there is an overwhelming amount of Christmas presents under the Christmas tree. Funny...anyone how knew my mom, knew she never left the house until her hair and makeup were done - even if it meant waiting hours on her LOL. Christmas brings fond memories of her....she always made sure Christmas was special and being Irish, St. Patrick's Day was always celebrated with corned beef and cabbage and anything that was green. My mother had a love for the water and fishing and enjoyed time on the beach. She was kind and generous and often had gifts for people "just because". I often wonder if she is still with me, but there have been signs the past 6 years that she is near me and looking over me and my children. At times when I'm getting ready to go to sleep I do talk to her...I know she's listening. I believe she's guided me through a lot of my hard times the past 2 years. She's missed dearly, but I know one day we will be together again. It's important to me that she knows she was loved...I love you mom!
