My Dad & Mom - Back in the Day

It's an old, faded picture, but I love it.  My dad & mom....

Family Portrait

I don't have any family portraits from back when I was a kid, but I do have one of me, my sister, my pops and my mom which I attached (see below).  It's from back in the 90s and it sits right here on my desk at work where I can look at it every day.  Brings back so many memorys....

Mother's Day and Missing My Mom

Red Roses
My Mother's Favorite Flower

It's hard to believe that May 3rd was three years since my mom's passing.  Mother's Day will never be the same, but fortunately I have three great kids that make the day very special for me.  May 17th would have been my mom's 64th birthday.  I'm so afraid of not remembering things such as her voice...I can still remember the sound of her voice so clearly and I never want that to fade. I believe about six months ago I had an emotional meltdown and it finally dawned on me that the next time I will see or be with my mom is when God calls me home. I talk to her and I know she's there, but it's just not the same as picking up the phone and calling her, seeing her, being with her, holding her, hugging her...the list goes on and on and oh how many things I wish I could have said to her before she passed!  To those of you who are lucky enough to still have your mom in your life be sure to tell her just how much she means to you and how much you love her. Life is short and before you know it...you've run out of time!

My Tat....

The past few years I've been wanting to have my tattoo recolored and I made a spur of the moment decision and just went and finally did it this past Saturday.  I mean I literally was washing dishes one minute and out the door the next...that's how spur of the moment it was. It's something I've been wanting to do the past five years and just kept putting it off.  I already had the three clovers (lower part of my back)  but the color was very faded so it was time to have them recolored and I decided to have my kids names added and had the blue added to make the names stand out a bit. I was very satisfied when all was said and done (yes..it hurt like hell - I can honestly say I won't be getting anymore tattoos - at least not in this life time).

Indian Echo Caverns - April 2013

Been living here for 18 years and never new that Indian Echo Caverns was all but 20 miles from my house (hmmm..go figure).  I've been wanting to go there for the longest time - it was something nice to do on a Sunday afternoon and the kids seemed to have enjoyed the tour and sifting through sand to find the pefect gem. Below are some pics.

Jersey Mike Memorial Rock& Run 5K

I'm not really into running but have recently incorporated it back into my workouts the past couple of months and my friend (Audie) told me about the Jersey Mike Memorial Rock & Run 5K here in Harrisburg at City Island on Saturday, April 13th so I decided to participate. Other then running on my treadmill, I haven't ran in a 5K in over five years so I was a little skeptical.  My goal was to run it from start to finish without stopping and I DID IT! I wasn't going for time...I just wanted to FINISH IT.  I am not a fast runner so I wasn't going to embarrass myself with trying to be one of the top 100 runners with the best time. I was elated that I ran it without stopping - goal accomplished! Now onto the YWCA 5K Run April 27th!

The Movie "42" - Story of Jackie Robinson

Saturday night Gracie had a sleepover so I took Jacob to see the movie "42" about the legendary baseball player "Jackie Robinson".  It was a GREAT movie...I definately give the movie 2 thumbs up. The movie was rated PG-13 and YES, there was the use of the "N" word throughout the movie...I explained all this to my 11 year old son prior to going to to see the movie and he understood that back during that time period the use of that word was very "common".  I must say there were times during the movie I found myself cringing in my seat and actually getting "angry" but I had to remind myself how things were back then and how "ingorant" people were. My dear friend Pat came along and she said she really enjoyed the movie as well.  I asked Jake what he thought and he said it was "awesome" - I do agree!

Some Pics of Moosie's 9th Bday Celebration

Moosie turned 9 on April 4th.  Below are some pics of his bday celebration!

Disney on Ice - April 12, 2013

I took Gracie to see another Disney on Ice show at the Giant Center this past Friday evening. We had great seats. While sitting in my law firm's suite is always nice (anything "free" is nice) I have to say buying the tickets and sitting a few rows from the ice was totally worth the money and it was a great show (probably one of the best shows we've gone to and we've been to many shows).  Below are some pics of our night out.  The show was geared for both girls/boys and had performances for the following Disney movies Cars, Aeriel, Tinkerbell and Toy Story 3.  Toy Story 3 was my favorite part of the show but I do believe I spent a good deal of time just staring at the little boys/girls and enjoying the looks on their faces as they saw their favorite Disney characters comes to life on the ice.  It was a great evening out with my daughter.

Lil' George - First Formal Job Interview

Little George had his first "formal" job interview (for an intership) last week. I asked him to text me a pic of him in his suit since he would'nt be home to see him before he left. He looked handsome (just like I thought he would!).
