Girl Scouts - Sweetheart Dance 2013

On Sunday, February 24th Gracie attended the Girl Scouts Sweetheart dance with her daddy. Below are some pictures I took before they left for the dance.

Mommy and Gracie - Manicure/Pedicure

I took Gracie for her very first manicure/pedicure on Saturday, February 23rd. George got me a gift certificate back in October for my birthday and Gracie's Sweetheart Dance was the following day so I figured it would be a nice treat for me and her to do this together.  Below are some pics.

Basketball 2012-2013 Season Comes to a Close

Jacob's basketball season will come to a close with his final game coming up this Saturday.  All the boys did a great job and worked together well as a team. I know Jacob will miss it, but will be back to play again next year.  All the boys received a medal for their hard work (see pics below).

Lent

Gracie decided to give up "sucking her thumb" for lent this year.  She normally sucks her thumb at night when she goes to bed so George helped her out and taped up both her thumbs for her so I had to get a few pictures of it while she was sleeping.  The child was in total disbelief this morning when she woke up...if only you could have seen the expression on her face as she was telling me how she went the whole night without sucking her thumb...it was too cute.  As for me...I am going to focus on "eating clean".  Jacob has given up sweets and to be honest, nobody in the house has a choice but to eat healthy because I got rid of all the junk food and replaced it all with healthier options! Oh but wait...my dad did sent me and Gracie two HUGE CHOCOLATE HEARTS for Valentine's Day. Mine is up in my closet so I can indulge when lent is over! Gracie hid her in her bedroom so Jacob can't find it LOL.

"Determination"

See pic below.  Gracie came home from school last week this picture that she made in art and she tells me "mom this took a lot of DETERMINATION to do" (the word determination being her "new word of the week" cause I recall her using in a few times the past few days) and I, of course, asked her why did it take so much determination? After a long drawn out explanation she essentially told me that no two colors alike could touch.  After looking at it and telling her what an awesome job she did I looked at it again thought to myself  "better her then me cause I would never have had the PATIENCE to do such a project" (this was just a portion of the picture mind you)!

PSU v. Ohio Hockey Game at Giant Center, Hershey, PA

OK...so my buddy Audie invites me to come along to see a PSU/Ohio hockey game at the Giant Center in Hershey.  I don't know too much about PSU hockey and did a little research prior to the game and found otu they are a fairly average hockey team and have only been around for about a year or so.  So I figured what the heck...I love hockey, it's time well spent with buddy Audie so what do I have to lose. Well, PSU kicked butt...they won the game 6-1 and guess what? I DIDN'T SEE ONE PSU GOAL! Nope! Sure didn't! I went to use the restroom two times and wouldn't you know the first time I go to the restroom PSU scored TWO goals and the second time I go to use the restroom they scored FOUR GOALS! Oh, but I did get to see Ohio score their ONE goal (BLEEP!).  Ugg....I am the only person I know that can do something like that! Regardless, I had a great time and that's all that matters!

Basketball at the "Y"

Jacob is playing basketball at the YMCA this year. Last year he played for the church and this year we opted for the YMCA and he loves it. He says playing for the "Y" he gets more play time and it's actually fun. I think playing for the church was a bit more competitive and there was always lots of yelling going on. He seems to enjoy it and it's something to keep him somewhat busy (other then "XBOX") until baseball season starts.

New Hair Style For Princess

Well instead of taking Gracie to get her hair "trimmed" up at the local hair joint I took her to where I get my hair done. She got the works (shampoo, cut, blowout) and she LOVED it (see pic below). We just had a few layers added in - nothing too crazy cause she still needs to be able to put her hair up for dance and gymnastics.

Ringing in the New Year

Welp ringing in the new year is just like very other year...I was fast asleep before the ball dropped!  I took Gracie to see Stars on Ice at the Giant Center on New Years Eve and spend most of my four days off watching several seasons of Sons of Anarchy.  I did manage to breakdown all the holiday stuff. This coming weekend is all about organzing, cleaning, dusting and getting my floors done - what a mess!

Cookies, Milk, Note and Tattoo for Santa

Gracie made sure Santa was set with cookies, milk and she even wrote him a little letter and left him a tattoo...not sure what was up with the tat.  Oh...she also put a signature line at the bottom of the letter for Santa to sign.

Opening Stocking Stuffers - Christmas Eve 2012

Merry Christmas Pop Pop

Christmas Eve 2012

First things first...IT WAS ACTUALLY SNOWING AS THE KIDS OPENED THEIR STOCKING STUFFERS!  Our normal tradition on Christmas Eve is go open stocking stuffers and read Twas The Night Before Christmas. Last year I was kindly informed by my husband and and sons that they really were not into the whole reading of Twas The Night Before Christmas.  So me and my princess (ah...that would be Princess Gracie) read the story and the best part of the whole experience was "my princess read the entire story to me".  Below are some pics of the kids (yes that included Moosie) opening their stocking stuffers.
