My First Pro-Football Game!

Yes, I went to my very first pro-football game but sadly it wasn't in Pittsburgh. My buddy Bill had two extra tickets to the Eagles/Steelers game in PHILLY and offered me two tickets and I kindly took him up on it. I really enjoyed the game - it was quite the experience and I found the crowd to be somewhat entertaining but rather obnoxious too - I just sat and took it all in and kept my mouth shut like a good girl.  I am glad I had Lil' George with me because I don't know much about football and whenever I had a question he had the answer (little walking book of knowledge that he is).  Below are some photos from the game.

12 Week Anti-Inflamatory Detox Program

Well I have now been on an anti-inflamatory detox program for 4 weeks now. I am down approx 12lbs and lost 10.5 inches. I am very pleased with the program as it does work.  In the past four weeks I have given up caffeine. Anyone who knows me knows that I was a coffee junky (I always had a Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks coffee in my hand).  Two weeks into the program I weined myself off the caffeine and now, for the past two weeks, I have been coffee/caffeine free.  I am also off one of the prescriptions I have been taking for the past 7 years. I have had nothing but positives results on this program. The only downfall is....the program is very very costly.  In prepping the body for a detox there are several herbal supplements that you MUST take (I take 15 supplements in the a.m. and 15 supplements in the p.m.) - I have spent boo-coo bucks on supplements the past four weeks. I have been feeling great, seeing a tremendous difference in the mirror and my clothes are fitting great! Other then the cost of the program I do not care for the "lemonade" detox.  I had to do the lemonade detox for three days during the first phase of the program and I just found out that during the second phase I will be doing a five day lemonade detox (BLAH....). But like I said, the program does work. I now live and eat clean. I eat nothing with preservatives in it and absolutely NO dairy. I have essentially been living on veggies and fruit and guess what? I AM NEVER HUNGRY? Now when I do the lemonade detox I do get hunger pains - I find the detox all but unbearable but for the cost of the dang program I will suck it up and fair through the detox.  This is just my four week update. I will update again at 8 weeks and 12 weeks. Peace!

Week 7 Update

Well I just finished my 7th week of the Anti-Inflamatory Detox Program and I am down approximately 20lbs. I feel great! I am now not only caffeine free but I am prescription free as well. No more meds other then the 30 herbal/all natural supplements I take daily LOL. I was taking an antibiotic on and off for chronic acne along my chin/neck region and I was afraid to go off of the meds because any time I did go off the medication I would breakout and have to start back up with the meds again. At about week 5 of the detox program I decided to stop taking the antibiotics and I have had NO acne breakouts.....just incredible.   All in all I would say this program has benefited me tremendously. I went in wanting to lose about 20lbs but there were so many other benefits that came with that 20lb weightloss. I will post my final update once I finish the program which is in about four weeks.

George's 43rd Birthday

George's birthday was on June 29th. We went up to Buckhorn to visit the family and mom made him his favorite oatmeal cake (no, I didn't have any I was in the middle of a "cleanse" - don't ask). It was nice to see the family and I finally met my new niece "Emma" - just beautiful. I am expecting another niece or nephew sometime in November (very excited). Below are some pics of George's birthday celebration.

Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary Celebration - Washington, DC - June 9, 2012

This past Saturday Gracie and I took a bus trip to Washington, DC to celebrate Girl Scouts 100th Anniversary.  Unfortunately, nobody from our troop went to the event (that I know of) but Brownie Troop 11357 was nice enough to let us tag along with them.  Below are some pictures of our trip.

Gracie's Birthday Celebration at School (6/4/12)

I met up with George at West Creek Elementary School (Gracie's school) today to pass out cupcakes and drinks to Gracie and her classmates in recognition of her birthday. I think Gracie was more excited to take the extra cupcakes to her favorite teachers and it got her and two friends out of class for 10 minutes.

Gracie's 8th Birthday

After we all went to Red Robin we headed back to the house and relaxed while the kids ran-rampid! They entertained us with getting dressing up (with all new dresses that were hanging in Gracie's closet that had tags on them mind you - you can imagine the look on my face, right?) and their version of choreographed dancing - it was very entertaining. Gracie got to open her birthday presents and later that night the girls watched movies, ate popcorn and even managed to squeeze in rootbeer floats! All in all, I would say Gracie had a nice birthday.

Lots of goodie - Littlest Pet Shop is what Gracie requested from mommy & daddy this year

Gracie also got a nice outfit and a water slip & slide from the twins

Gracie picked out the ladybug cake (which is cupcakes that you are suppose to just tear and remove - it was a mess and the icing was super thick (like 2+ inches thick) and kind of hard - I would not recommend buying these whatsoever.

Jake was a trooper and hung out with the girls for his sister's birthday!

The Steeler Ant

Gracie had to do a class project and list the various different parts of an insect so she chose to create an "ant" and of course it had to have something to do with black and yellow being the Pennsylvanians that we all are. It was originally going to be called The Pittsburgh Steelers Ant" but since black and yellow (or gold) are the Pirates/Penguins colors....she opted to go with The Steeler Ant to represent all the Pittsburgh teams.  A special thanks to "daddy" who helped her out tremendously with this project - I think he was into the project more then Gracie was...LOL Unfotunately I did not get a picture of the finished product that had all the labels of the various different parts of an insects body. Job well done and she got an A+.
